
On total, 336 students and faculty members contributed in developing the proposed database accumulation phase. Such samples of handwritten characters are collected on an A4-sized paper from different students of Pashto Department in University of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. This dataset consists of fourteen thousand, seven hundred, and eighty-four samples-336 samples for each of the 44 characters in the Pashto character dataset. In order to address this issue, this study presents the first handwritten Pashto characters image dataset (HPCID) for the scientific research work. However, the lack of datasets for handwritten Pashto characters hinders the application of a suitable machine learning algorithm for recognizing useful insights. Acceptable handwritten character datasets are available in many languages including English, Arabic, and many more. Enabling a machine learning technique to recognize handwritten characters of a specific language requires a standard dataset.

Once you’ve figured it out you can look up the Kanji relatively quickly. You’ll need to know a bit about how Kanji are constructed to use these tools.

If you don’t find the Kanji drawing recognition is working, you can use an online tool to select the correct Kanji by clicking on which radicals you see in it.ĭenshi Jisho works for me, or if you have an iPhone, the latest version of Kotoba has Kanji radical search built in.

If you install the Japanese IME you’ll easily be able to type in the kana characters, and if you enable the IME pad (choose the Japanese keyboard, right click the icon with the red circle, and click ‘Additional icons in the taskbar’), you’ll be able to have a go at drawing the kana or Kanji – if you are close enough it should recognise the symbol. If any of the kana are wrong you can simple copy the correct ones over using Wikipedia’s Hiragana table, or their Katakana table.
